After a rather tough play, Cardiff's Evan Finn got a free kick in the 13th minute. Garym Lardner took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kevyn Foody, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Drystan Barton in the 16th minute of play forced Cardiff's goalkeeper Garym Lardner to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Amren Evans received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Garym Lardner came out and tried to block the shot, but Amren Evans slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 21st minute. Nerth Connolly sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 32ndth minute of the game Drystan Barton who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Cardiff's Garym Lardner was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 33rd minute of the match, Kevyn Foody tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Garym Lardner saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Garym Lardner stood somewhat misplaced when Amren Evans came free in front of goal and shot 3-0 to the left of him in the 36 minute. After 39 played minutes UWA Aberystwyth got a freekick which was hit by Gleis Brin. Lot Loane received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Aeddan Lavender tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Drystan Barton to make the kick off. In the 66th match minute, Cardiff was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Berwyn Haran to maneuver through the defense. Garym Lardner showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Amren Evans, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. After having played for 73 minutes, Gruffen Grinham managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cardiff's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gruffen Grinham was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Lot Loane had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Amren Evans in the 84th minute of play forced Cardiff's goalkeeper Garym Lardner to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Garym Lardner stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Nerth Connolly's shot from short distance in the 91st minute. In the 92nd minute Kevyn Foody shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Garym Lardner saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 93rd minute of the match Bercelak Greenwalt shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Garym Lardner showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The audience was convinced that Drystan Barton's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Garym Lardner was relentless in the 97th minute of the game. Cardiff's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
