Rhonnda's Taffy Finn proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 15th minute of the match, managed to save Rhonnda from getting a goal against them. The supporters of Rhonnda booed when Cardiff was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dillus Johnson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rhonnda's defense didn't have a chance, in the 21st minute, when Teregud Brien scored to the left of an out of position Taffy Finn, making the score, 1-1. 25 minutes into the game, Bleddyn Colporteur was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Rhonnda's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cardiff the free kick. Bleddyn Colporteur kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. Amlawdd Frisby hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Cardiff's zone, Price Inge stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bwlch Thatcher came out of the goal and Price Inge tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Brastias Fishman fell near the penalty area in the 30th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cardiff's protests and gave Brastias Fishman a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Rhonnda's Griffith Case got a free kick in the 34th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Griffith Case in the 42nd minute of play forced Cardiff's goalkeeper Bwlch Thatcher to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 43rdth minute of the game Griffith Case who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Cardiff's Bwlch Thatcher was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Rhonnda's Taffy Finn proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 47th minute of the match, managed to save Rhonnda from getting a goal against them. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The Cardiff fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Bwlch Thatcher should have stopped the shot. Taffy Finn made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Teregud Brien in the 60th minute of play. With an all-out effort, Rhonnda's Bwlch Thatcher threw himself towards the right post 67 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Griffith Case, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After a defensive mix-up in Rhonnda's zone, Teregud Brien stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Taffy Finn came out of the goal and Teregud Brien tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Taffy Finn made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Teregud Brien in the 70th minute of play. In the 71st minute Teregud Brien shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Taffy Finn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 74 minutes into the match, Rhonnda's goal looked a bit too open when Teregud Brien came free, but Taffy Finn reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Teregud Brien in the 77th minute of play forced Rhonnda's goalkeeper Taffy Finn to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 87th minute of the match Rhonnda got a corner. Cardiff's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Price Inge ran over to the corner to take the kick. Bleddyn Colporteur hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. In the 96th minute Cedric Diamond shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Taffy Finn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
