An unexpectedly hard shot by Ceithin Hoskins in the 13th minute of play forced Rhonnda's goalkeeper Taffy Finn to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 16 minutes into the game, Montgomery's Gorsedd Eckles nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Taffy Finn made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Ceithin Hoskins hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. 31 minutes into the match, Griffith Case had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Cerwyn Jordan. Montgomery's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Griffith Case was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. 41 minutes into the game, Griffith Case recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Cerwyn Jordan. Griffith Case showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-2. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Griffith Case made a kick off. After 52 played minutes, Rhonnda's Bleddyn Colporteur shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Cerwyn Jordan came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Rhonnda reached it. After a rather tough play, Montgomery's Rheged Foody got a free kick in the 53rd minute. A sloppy throw-in by Dirmyg Diamond in the 59th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Rhonnda's Mil Ivers. In the 61st minute, Griffith Case left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Rhonnda fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-2. After 64 minutes, Dirmyg Diamond mouthed his way into the referee's book. Rhonnda's Taffy Finn played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gorsedd Eckles in the 91st minute of play. Gorsedd Eckles fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Taffy Finn having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Rhonnda's Siencyn Haughion got a free kick in the 95th minute.
