The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Khaled Hammami during the 21st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Staines getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Khaled Hammami hit a great ball. 22 minutes into the match, Habib Abdi notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Staines's Youssef Ben Karray. Youssef Ben Karray was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 38thth minute of the game Khaled Hammami who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Halifax's Riadh Ghannem was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Khaled Hammami fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Riadh Ghannem having to interfere. 47 minutes into the match, Staines's goal looked a bit too open when Hédi Ghodhbane came free, but Youssef Ben Karray reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Khaled Hammami to make the kick off. Habib Abdi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Youssef Ben Karray tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Slaheddine Cherif might have been able to make a better finish in the 54th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Riadh Ghannem. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. In the 62nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Halifax's goalkeeper Riadh Ghannem, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Khaled Hammami in the 69th minute of play forced Halifax's goalkeeper Riadh Ghannem to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Slaheddine Cherif fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Riadh Ghannem having to interfere. In the 78th minute Slaheddine Cherif shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Riadh Ghannem saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 80th minute the ball was on its way in behind Staines's goalkeeper Youssef Ben Karray, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Khaled Hammami had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Riadh Ghannem showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Khaled Hammami in the 87th minute of the match. Slaheddine Cherif fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Riadh Ghannem having to interfere. Halifax's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
