East Cowes's Moncef Meriah played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Youssef Beya in the 23rd minute of play. With a little luck, Bebington's Taher Ben Aïssa got control of the ball when Muhammad Amor tried to sneak it across the goal line. Moncef Meriah made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Karim Moatamri in the 30th minute of play. When Ali Salah fell near the penalty area in the 31st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Bebington's protests and gave Ali Salah a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Bebington's Ali Salah got a free kick in the 31st minute. 34 minutes into the match, Karim Moatamri notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of East Cowes's Moncef Meriah. Moncef Meriah was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Muhammad Amor to make the kick off. In the 58th minute, Muhammad Amor got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 65 minutes, Zouheir Karoui managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. East Cowes's supporters crossed their fingers, but Zouheir Karoui was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Taher Ben Aïssa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zouheir Karoui, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
