Houcine Mechergui's late challenge caught a Canterbury's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Houcine Mechergui helped the player get up and apologised. In the 29th match minute, Hatfield City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Houcine Mechergui to maneuver through the defense. Noureddine Jegham sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 44 minutes into the match, Canterbury's goalkeeper Karim Laabidi had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Mohamed Salah Haithem. Houcine Mechergui was shown his second yellow card after 81 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 88th minute Mohamed Salah Haithem shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Karim Laabidi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 91st minute Hedhili Naybet shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Abdessalem Haggui saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Hedhili Naybet had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 96thth minute of the game Mohamed Salah Haithem who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Canterbury's Karim Laabidi was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball.
