In the 5th minute, Haroune Zitouni got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adel Baya in the 12th minute of play forced Sudbury's goalkeeper Karim Ghannem to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hadj Salem Jomaa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Selim Achab having to interfere. Habib El Ouaer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sudbury's Karim Ghannem played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adel Baya in the 27th minute of play. If Habib El Ouaer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 31 played minutes Sudbury got a freekick which was hit by Ayèche Sebki. In the 32nd minute, Hamed Zouaoui sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Sudbury's Karim Ghannem didn't even have to move. Selim Achab didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Haroune Zitouni went, in the 36th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. 40 minutes into the match, Habib El Ouaer had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Karim Ghannem. Sudbury's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Habib El Ouaer was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. After a rather tough play, Sudbury's Ayèche Sebki got a free kick in the 48th minute. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Hadj Salem Jomaa was the one to do the kick off. 53 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when Sudbury's Haroune Zitouni fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. In the 54th minute, Hadj Salem Jomaa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of Sudbury booed when St Ives United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hamed Zouaoui didn't get a good kick on the ball. Karim Ghannem made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Habib El Ouaer in the 61st minute of play. Habib El Ouaer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Karim Ghannem tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 65th minute Adel Baya shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Karim Ghannem saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Karim Ghannem made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tarak Zahaf in the 69th minute of play. 70 minutes into the match, Adel Baya had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Karim Ghannem. Sudbury's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Adel Baya was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. Haroune Zitouni struck a weak shot in the 74th minute. Selim Achab didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sudbury. A collision led to Sudbury getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Zied Boumnijel hit a great ball. Sudbury were furious when Hamed Bouazizi was red carded, 83 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. Haroune Zitouni recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 94th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 97 minutes into the match, Habib El Ouaer had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Karim Ghannem. Sudbury's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Habib El Ouaer was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-2. St Ives United were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Sudbury for a fine match.
