The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Habib Chiboub came up free with the goalie in the 6th minute, the Sandown fans jumped to their feet. In the 10th minute, Sudbury's Hadj Salem Jomaa ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Oussama Ben Salah. Oussama Ben Salah yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. Karim Ghannem stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Habib Chiboub's shot from short distance in the 21st minute. Hadj Salem Jomaa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Oussama Ben Salah tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hamdi Adhoum sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 45th minute, Haroune Zitouni got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Hadj Salem Jomaa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 49th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Habib Chiboub to make the kick off. Sudbury's supporters crossed their fingers, but Haroune Zitouni was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hadj Salem Jomaa in the 73rd minute of play forced Sandown's goalkeeper Oussama Ben Salah to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Haroune Zitouni received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Hadj Salem Jomaa in the 79th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Oussama Ben Salah saved Sandown from getting behind. After some careless play in the Sandown defense, Haroune Zitouni kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Oussama Ben Salah. The Sandown fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Oussama Ben Salah should have stopped the shot. In the 89th match minute, Sandown was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sadok Nafti to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 95th minute, Hadj Salem Jomaa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sudbury's supporters rose to their feet, but Hadj Salem Jomaa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Oussama Ben Salah breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Sudbury's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
