Ahmed Mrabet showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ali Achour, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Birch House's zone, Ali Achour stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ahmed Mrabet came out of the goal and Ali Achour tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Ahmed Mrabet made a fantastic save in the 55th minute, when Ali Achour sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of Stretford booed when Birch House was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Slaheddine Negrouz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Hamadi Tlili recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ali Achour sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Taher Meriah scored 1-0 in the 62nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Hamed Sioud, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Taher Meriah fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hamed Sioud having to interfere. Slaheddine Negrouz kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. Hamadi Tlili received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Ahmed Mrabet tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
