After having played for 6 minutes, Adel Bejaoui managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Chelmsford AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Adel Bejaoui was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Helsby's Francileudo Badra pulled a muscle in his leg after 14 minutes and couldn't finish the game. 14 minutes into the game, Adel Bejaoui was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Chelmsford AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Helsby the free kick. After 15 played minutes Chelmsford AFC got a freekick which was hit by Adel Bejaoui. Radhi Sguir sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hedi Mnari in the 21st minute of play forced Helsby's goalkeeper Chaouki Karoui to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Chaouki Karoui came out of the goal in the 21st minute to try and stop a shot by Chelmsford AFC's Hedi Mnari. But to his dismay, Hedi Mnari quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Radhi Sguir got free with Wissem Bouazizi in the 27th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 30th minute Hedi Mnari shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Chaouki Karoui saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hedi Mnari fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Chaouki Karoui having to interfere. Chelmsford AFC's Zoubeir Loussayef couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 46th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Helsby. A collision led to Helsby getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Radhi Sguir hit a great ball.

If Hedi Mnari had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Chaouki Karoui showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adel Bejaoui, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adel Bejaoui in the 55th minute of play forced Helsby's goalkeeper Chaouki Karoui to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Helsby's zone, Adel Bejaoui stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Chaouki Karoui came out of the goal and Adel Bejaoui tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Adel Bejaoui fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Chaouki Karoui having to interfere. In the 89th minute Adel Bejaoui shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Chaouki Karoui saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 92 played minutes Helsby got a freekick which was hit by Radhi Sguir. In the 95th minute of the match Chelmsford AFC got a corner. Helsby's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Zoubeir Loussayef ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on Chelmsford AFC's corner Mohammed Haggui fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Chaouki Karoui quite easily take care of the ball. When the final whistle sounded Chelmsford AFC left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Helsby.
