Elsdon United's Abdallah Essafi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Moez Khayachi in the 25th minute of play. In the 32nd minute Salah Belhaj Benachour shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ahmed Souissi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Salah Belhaj Benachour might have been able to make a better finish in the 33rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ahmed Souissi. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Salah Belhaj Benachour ran back to his position shaking his head. Karim Beya fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Abdallah Essafi having to interfere. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Salah Belhaj Benachour was the one to do the kick off. Moez Khayachi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ali Mestiri kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. 58 minutes into the match, Elsdon United's goal looked a bit too open when Moez Khayachi came free, but Abdallah Essafi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 92nd minute, Salah Belhaj Benachour got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of Prescot AFC booed when Elsdon United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ali Mestiri didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Prescot AFC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
