In the 5th minute, Handsworth AFC's Oussama M'hadhebi ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Med Bey. Med Bey yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Kamel Ben Fadhel kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. Mehdi Slimane made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Albert Sallemi in the 11th minute of play. The supporters of Handsworth AFC booed when Pontefract FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hichem Khcharem didn't get a good kick on the ball. Oussama M'hadhebi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Med Bey tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 18th minute, Albert Sallemi made a precise shot to the right of Mehdi Slimane. Handsworth AFC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Zoubair Essediri received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Med Bey tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 26th minute of the game. One of Pontefract FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Handsworth AFC:s goal. Kamel Jaziri walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. 29 minutes into the match, Pontefract FC's goal looked a bit too open when Oussama M'hadhebi came free, but Med Bey reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Oussama M'hadhebi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Zoubair Essediri scored 2-1 in the 35th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Med Bey, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Kamel Ben Fadhel recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 48th minute of the match, Oussama M'hadhebi tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Med Bey saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Albert Sallemi stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zoubair Essediri in the 53rd minute of play forced Pontefract FC's goalkeeper Med Bey to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A very good chance. 72 minutes into the match, Pontefract FC's Kamel Ben Fadhel sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Mehdi Slimane narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 74th minute, Oussama M'hadhebi left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Handsworth AFC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. Pontefract FC's Albert Sallemi got a good chance for a goal in the 83rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 84 minutes into the game, Fadhel Ali Bourguiba was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Handsworth AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Pontefract FC the free kick. After 84 played minutes Handsworth AFC got a freekick which was hit by Fadhel Ali Bourguiba. Handsworth AFC's Mehdi Slimane proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 86th minute of the match, managed to save Handsworth AFC from getting a goal against them. Kamel Ben Fadhel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Albert Sallemi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mehdi Slimane having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 96th minute, Kamel Ben Fadhel managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pontefract FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Kamel Ben Fadhel was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mehdi Slimane breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. For all the effort they put into the match, the Pontefract FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Handsworth AFC.
