In the 10th match minute, Stanley United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ali Eyadema to maneuver through the defense. Jamel Mhedhebi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 16th minute, José Chedli ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Samir Khcharem was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Chaker Chaldun took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jamel Mhedhebi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 22nd minute, Stanley United's Said Gharbi dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. Moustafa Hicheri hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jamel Mhedhebi in the 27th minute of play forced Stanley United's goalkeeper Chaker Chaldun to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Hove's Samir Khcharem got control of the ball when Said Gharbi tried to sneak it across the goal line. 31 minutes into the match, Stanley United's goal looked a bit too open when Jamel Mhedhebi came free, but Chaker Chaldun reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Stanley United getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Ali Eyadema hit a great ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ahmed Ghariani to make the kick off. If José Chedli had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jamel Mhedhebi who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 56thth minute tested the skills of Chaker Chaldun when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Hove's Sofiene Khayachi suffered a concussion after 57 minutes and had to leave the field. 57 minutes into the game, Ali Eyadema was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Stanley United's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Hove the free kick. In the 58th minute, Ali Eyadema hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, José Chedli managed to get in a good position for a shot. Stanley United's supporters rose to their feet, but José Chedli was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Samir Khcharem breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 93 played minutes Hove got a freekick which was hit by Sadok M'henni. Stanley United's Said Gharbi got a good chance for a goal in the 94th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Samir Khcharem made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Said Gharbi in the 96th minute of play. For all the effort they put into the match, the Hove players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Stanley United.
