The audience thought a goal was coming when Habib Ladgham got free with Hamdi Sellami in the 28th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Mohamed Baya's late challenge caught a Argentina's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mohamed Baya helped the player get up and apologised. In the 32nd minute, Mohamed Baya hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Habib Ladgham recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 41st minute, Habib Ladgham got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Hichem Bouazizi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alaeddine Mestiri in the 45th minute of the match. When Sofiane Abdi fell near the penalty area in the 46th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Argentina's protests and gave Sofiane Abdi a yellow card for diving instead. Sofiane Abdi kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Habib Ladgham to make the kick off. After 52 minutes, Slim Arfa mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Argentina and the Wallasey players grew even worse after the yellow card. Hichem Bouazizi was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. After a defensive mix-up in Argentina's zone, Mohsen Khayachi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hichem Bouazizi came out of the goal and Mohsen Khayachi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Habib Ladgham sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Wallasey had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
