After 7 minutes of play, Gosport's Fadhel Salem made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Mahmoud Jaber was left in no man's land by his defense there! Fadhel Salem scored 0-2 in the 12th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Mahmoud Jaber, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Habib Abdelkader sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some careless play in the Turnpike Lane defense, Fadhel Salem kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Mahmoud Jaber. The Turnpike Lane fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Mahmoud Jaber should have stopped the shot. Gosport's Mohieddine Bnouni proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 23rd minute of the match, managed to save Gosport from getting a goal against them. Turnpike Lane's Mahmoud Jaber played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bechir Bensedrine in the 25th minute of play. Mahmoud Jaber took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fadhel Salem, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, Gosport's Mohieddine Bnouni got control of the ball when Habib Abdelkader tried to sneak it across the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jean Hermassi during the 31st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Bechir Bensedrine was the one to do the kick off. Mohieddine Bnouni made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Habib Abdelkader in the 60th minute of play. In the 62nd minute Hedhili Trabelsi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mohieddine Bnouni saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bechir Bensedrine sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 69th minute, Habib Abdelkader managed to get in a good position for a shot. Turnpike Lane's supporters rose to their feet, but Habib Abdelkader was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mohieddine Bnouni breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Fadhel Salems short, quick shot in the 71stth minute got Mahmoud Jaber to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Mahmoud Jaber made an important save on a dangerous shot by Fadhel Salem in the 78th minute. In the 80th match minute, Gosport was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Samir Mestiri to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Habib Abdelkader in the 83rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Mohieddine Bnouni prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Habib Abdelkader came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the Turnpike Lane fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Habib Abdelkader couldn't finish the play. If Jean Hermassi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Gosport had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
