Chokri al-Husain started the match with the kick off. After having played for 4 minutes, Pierre Nafti managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Whitley Bay FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Pierre Nafti was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Hamdi BenAmor made an important save on a dangerous shot by Abdelkarim Basli in the 7th minute. In the 13th minute Abdelkarim Basli shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hamdi BenAmor saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Whitley Bay FC's Abdallah Mechergui played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Chokri al-Husain in the 16th minute of play. Amine Mrabet struck a weak shot in the 21st minute. Abdallah Mechergui didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for York. 26 minutes into the game, Pierre Nafti was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Whitley Bay FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave York the free kick. If Chokri al-Husain had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Abdelkarim Basli fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hamdi BenAmor having to interfere. 30 minutes into the match, Whitley Bay FC's goal looked a bit too open when Chokri al-Husain came free, but Abdallah Mechergui reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Pierre Nafti received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Hamdi BenAmor tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 34th match minute, Whitley Bay FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sadok Dermech to maneuver through the defense. York's Amine Mrabet got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Abdallah Mechergui took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Amine Mrabet, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 43 minutes, Sadok Dermech managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Whitley Bay FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sadok Dermech was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Abdelkarim Basli to make the kick off. Amine Mrabet could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 55th minute of the match, but Abdallah Mechergui made a huge save. If Chokri al-Husain had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Amine Mrabet sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Amine Mrabet fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Abdallah Mechergui having to interfere. Hamdi BenAmor made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abdelkarim Basli in the 70th minute of play. When Pierre Nafti came up free with the goalie in the 73rd minute, the Whitley Bay FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pierre Nafti couldn't finish the play. Abdelkarim Basli recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 74th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ali Souayati charged in rather forcefully in the 75th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ali Souayati the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Ali Souayati kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. In the 78th match minute, Whitley Bay FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mehdi Abdallah to maneuver through the defense. Amine Mrabet fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Abdallah Mechergui having to interfere. In the 90th minute, Chokri al-Husain hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Pierre Nafti fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hamdi BenAmor having to interfere. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
