But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Khaled Mouelhi couldn't finish the play. In the 40th match minute, Hitchin was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Amine Brahem to maneuver through the defense. When Laamari Achour came up free with the goalie in the 41st minute, the Great Leighs fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Laamari Achour couldn't finish the play. Habib Baya hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. Hitchin's Khaled Mouelhi got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Laamari Achour was the one to do the kick off. Great Leighs's Tarak Badra proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 53rd minute of the match, managed to save Great Leighs from getting a goal against them. Fathi Azzaro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Laamari Achour in the 57th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Hitchin's Khaled Mouelhi got a free kick in the 60th minute. After having played for 66 minutes, Khaled Mouelhi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hitchin's supporters crossed their fingers, but Khaled Mouelhi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee ignored Hitchin's protests and gave Khaled Mouelhi a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Great Leighs booed when Hitchin was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Khaled Mouelhi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Laamari Achour sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Laamari Achour fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fathi Azzaro having to interfere. There was no doubt that Great Leighs were the better team. Great Leighs's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
