The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Maher Mestiri couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Ashington AFC's Anis Bensedrine got a free kick in the 18th minute. Ashington AFC's Moncef Ben Doulet got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 24 minutes into the match, Spitalfields and Shoreditch's goal looked a bit too open when Moncef Ben Doulet came free, but Mehdi Beya reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Maher Mestiri's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Mehdi Beya was relentless in the 25th minute of the game. In the 29th minute Ashington AFC were awarded a corner. Mehdi Ben Bargougui went to the cornerflag to take it. When Mounir Agrebi fell near the penalty area in the 39th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Spitalfields and Shoreditch's protests and gave Mounir Agrebi a yellow card for diving instead. Mounir Agrebi kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Spitalfields and Shoreditch's zone, Moncef Ben Doulet stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mehdi Beya came out of the goal and Moncef Ben Doulet tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 45th minute, Moncef Ben Doulet got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Maher Mestiri to make the kick off. The supporters of Ashington AFC booed when Spitalfields and Shoreditch was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Faouzi Slim didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Chokri Chiba in the 56th minute of play forced Ashington AFC's goalkeeper Bassem Sellimi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Maher Mestiri received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Mehdi Beya came out and tried to block the shot, but Maher Mestiri slotted it home off the left post making it 0-1 in the 78th minute. Moncef Ben Doulet could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 88th minute of the match, but Mehdi Beya made a huge save. In the 90th minute, Chokri Chiba got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The Ashington AFC players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Spitalfields and Shoreditch from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
