The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 2nd minute, Jose Sboui hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Atef Sfar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 3rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. When Atef Sfar came up free with the goalie in the 5th minute, the Cove fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Atef Sfar couldn't finish the play. Majed Gmamdia might have been able to make a better finish in the 7th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ibrahim Benzekri . Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Majed Gmamdia ran back to his position shaking his head. If Majed Gmamdia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Majed Gmamdia struck a weak shot in the 17th minute. Ibrahim Benzekri didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Old Clipstone City. In the 19th minute the ball was on its way in behind Cove's goalkeeper Ibrahim Benzekri , but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Cove's Ibrahim Benzekri played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Majed Gmamdia in the 20th minute of play. In the 23rd minute, Tarak Bouali hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Noureddine Mechergui struck a weak shot in the 29th minute. Ibrahim Benzekri didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Old Clipstone City. Néji Radhouani hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Cove's Hamed Saidi slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Khaled Haithem. That made the score 1-0 after 39 minutes of play. If Atef Sfar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Hedi Kalaï stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Jose Sboui hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. Ali Kasraoui's late challenge caught a Cove's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ali Kasraoui helped the player get up and apologised. Ali Kasraoui kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Mokhtar Ameur during the 60th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Khaled Haithem stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Hedi Kalaï's shot from short distance in the 61st minute. Cove's Atef Sfar got a good chance for a goal in the 65th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Noureddine Mechergui fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ibrahim Benzekri having to interfere. After 75 minutes, Noureddine Mechergui made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. Cove's Ibrahim Benzekri tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. A collision led to Cove getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Abdelkarim Ghodhbane hit a great ball. In the 84th minute, Hedi Kalaï made a precise shot to the right of Khaled Haithem. Old Clipstone City's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. Hamed Saidi kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. Atef Sfar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 95th minute, Hedi Kalaï got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
