With a little luck, Stevenage City's Tarek Sellimi got control of the ball when Ahmed Khcharem tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 25 minutes, Lotfi Achab mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Stevenage City and the Margate players grew even worse after the yellow card. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Abdelkarim Nafti was the one to do the kick off. In the 65th minute Ahmed Khcharem shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tarek Sellimi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ahmed Khcharem fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tarek Sellimi having to interfere. Abdelkarim Nafti sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Stevenage City's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
