Jemeleddine Ladgham blasted a shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Mokhtar Ben Zid having to make a save. The audience was convinced that Karim Melki's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Oussama Arfa was relentless in the 6th minute of the game. After having played for 7 minutes, Karim Melki managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Highgate's supporters crossed their fingers, but Karim Melki was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 20th minute, Marouane Essediri hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Oussama Arfa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mohamad Ouhir, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. Jemeleddine Ladgham received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Mokhtar Ben Zid tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lotfi Slimane in the 44th minute of play forced Highgate's goalkeeper Mokhtar Ben Zid to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mohamad Ouhir fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Oussama Arfa having to interfere. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Lotfi Slimane made a kick off. Mohamad Ouhir struck a weak shot in the 56th minute. Oussama Arfa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Highgate. Jemeleddine Ladgham sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jemeleddine Ladgham's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mokhtar Ben Zid read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 62nd minute of play. In the 69thth minute of the game Karim Melki who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Gainsborough City's Oussama Arfa was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Oussama Arfa was out of position in the 76 minute of play, and Karim Melki capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Karim Melki really showed his touch with that goal: 1-1. Jemeleddine Ladgham sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal.
