Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Hédi Boumnijel started the match with the kick off. Hédi Boumnijel might have been able to make a better finish in the 6th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Emir Mestiri. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Hédi Boumnijel ran back to his position shaking his head. Néji Essediri sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Emir Mestiri made an important save on a dangerous shot by Fadhel Chikhaoui in the 16th minute. Emsworth FC's Majdi Mzali got a good chance for a goal in the 17th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Mohamad Ben Saada fell near the penalty area in the 19th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Emsworth FC's protests and gave Mohamad Ben Saada a yellow card for diving instead. In the 20th minute, Mohamad Ben Saada hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 23rd minute Majdi Mzali shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mohamed Sguir saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 23 played minutes East Grinstead AFC got a freekick which was hit by Néji Essediri. Mohamed Sguir took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mohamed Badra, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 28 minutes into the game, Emsworth FC's Mohamed Badra nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Mohamed Sguir made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. If Sadok Mnari had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 42 minutes of play, Emsworth FC's Majdi Mzali made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Mohamed Sguir was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 46thth minute of the game Hédi Boumnijel who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Emsworth FC's Emir Mestiri was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Majdi Mzali fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mohamed Sguir having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Mohamed Badra to strike the kick off in the second half. After 52 played minutes East Grinstead AFC got a freekick which was hit by Hosni Belgacem. East Grinstead AFC's Mohamed Sguir played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mohamed Badra in the 54th minute of play. 56 minutes into the match, Emsworth FC's goal looked a bit too open when Hédi Boumnijel came free, but Emir Mestiri reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 60thth minute of the game Fadhel Chikhaoui who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Emsworth FC's Emir Mestiri was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Fadhel Chikhaoui struck a weak shot in the 61st minute. Emir Mestiri didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for East Grinstead AFC. Mohamed Sguir made an important save on a dangerous shot by Majdi Mzali in the 70th minute. In the 75th match minute, East Grinstead AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Néji Essediri to maneuver through the defense. After some careless play in the Emsworth FC defense, Fadhel Chikhaoui kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Emir Mestiri. The Emsworth FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Emir Mestiri should have stopped the shot. 2-3 became the score in the 84th minute when Hédi Boumnijel elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Majdi Mzali received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Mohamed Sguir tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. East Grinstead AFC's Hédi Boumnijel got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 95th minute Hédi Boumnijel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emir Mestiri saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Emsworth FC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
