After 10 played minutes, Bristol Fishponds's Mohieddine Ayari shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Aymen Chatti came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Bristol Fishponds reached it. Blaise Nafti blasted a shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Aymen Chatti having to make a save. In the 14th minute the ball was on its way in behind Grantham United's goalkeeper Aymen Chatti, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 17 minutes into the game, Khaled Trabelsi cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. If Blaise Nafti had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Aymen Chatti made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Blaise Nafti in the 47th minute of play.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Blaise Nafti was the one to do the kick off. After having played for 51 minutes, Wissem Merdassi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal.
