The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Hocine Slimane had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. Handsworth AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hocine Slimane was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 16th minute Mohamed Khalfaoui shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Abdelaziz Hakimi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Handsworth AFC defense, Chaker Khayachi kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Abdelaziz Hakimi . The Handsworth AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Abdelaziz Hakimi should have stopped the shot. After 27 played minutes Handsworth AFC got a freekick which was hit by Jawhar Makni. Mohamed Khalfaoui recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 30th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Hocine Slimane had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Kamel M'hadhebi's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Abdelaziz Hakimi was relentless in the 36th minute of the game. Habib Zouaoui did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-1 to the left of a surprised Mohamed Salah Ben Loussayef 37 minutes into the match. 42 minutes into the match, Leighton Buzzard United's Chaker Khayachi broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. In the 43rd minute Mohamed Khalfaoui shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Abdelaziz Hakimi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Habib Zouaoui was the one to do the kick off. 58 minutes into the match, Leighton Buzzard United's goal looked a bit too open when Hocine Slimane came free, but Mohamed Salah Ben Loussayef reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Abdelaziz Hakimi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Kamel M'hadhebi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 89th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 92 minutes of play, Leighton Buzzard United's Mohamed Khalfaoui made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Abdelaziz Hakimi was left in no man's land by his defense there! Leighton Buzzard United were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
