Kais Cherif kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. Aziz Omrani received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Khaled Sboui tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Khaled Sboui came out of the goal in the 19th minute to try and stop a shot by Gainsborough's Aziz Omrani. But to his dismay, Aziz Omrani quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. When Oussama Jouili fell near the penalty area in the 24th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Gainsborough's protests and gave Oussama Jouili a yellow card for diving instead. Oussama Jouili kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. Anis Rzouga took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 32nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Khaled Sboui. Bayton City's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. If Mohamed Achab had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 35th match minute, Gainsborough was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adel Arfa to maneuver through the defense. Dali Brahem made a fantastic save in the 39th minute, when Maher Mourali sent off a good shot on target. In the 43rdth minute of the game Mohamed Achab who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Bayton City's Khaled Sboui was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Maher Mourali could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 46th minute of the match, but Dali Brahem made a huge save. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Mohamed Achab made a kick off. Khaled Sboui took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mohamed Achab, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Aziz Omrani sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dali Brahem showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kais Cherif, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. In the 71st minute, Mahmoud Ben Fadhel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 78 minutes into the match, Gainsborough's Aziz Omrani sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Khaled Sboui narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Maher Mourali's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dali Brahem was relentless in the 79th minute of the game. 83 minutes into the game, Sami Bargawi was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Bayton City's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Gainsborough the free kick. Khaled Sboui showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mohamed Achab in the 87th minute of the match. In the 95th minute, Chaker Bargawi had to be helped off the field due to a pulled leg muscle. In the 96th match minute, Gainsborough was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Karim Akid to maneuver through the defense. The Gainsborough supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Gainsborough would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
