Shoeburyness's Pierre Srarfi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ali Chaldun in the 16th minute of play. In the 25th minute Ali Chaldun shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pierre Srarfi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 25 played minutes Shoeburyness got a freekick which was hit by Said Ben Fergani. Hassib Hammami's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Pierre Srarfi read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 27th minute of play. Hedi Limam stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Khaled Sguir's shot from short distance in the 28th minute. If Ali Chaldun had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pierre Srarfi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ali Chaldun in the 38th minute of the match. When Hassib Hammami came up free with the goalie in the 42nd minute, the Ellesmere Port City fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hassib Hammami couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Shoeburyness's zone, Hassib Hammami stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pierre Srarfi came out of the goal and Hassib Hammami tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Hedi Limam showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Khaled Sguir in the 60th minute of the match. In the 64th minute, Khaled Sguir left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Shoeburyness fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Ellesmere Port City's Hedi Limam played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Said Nefzi in the 67th minute of play. After having played for 71 minutes, Hassib Hammami managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ellesmere Port City's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hassib Hammami was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Ali Chaldun had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Said Nefzi came up free with the goalie in the 75th minute, the Shoeburyness fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Said Nefzi couldn't finish the play. Khaled Sguir succeeded in the game's 77th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 2-0. Hedi Limam took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Khaled Sguir, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 85th minute, Ellesmere Port City's Adel Slimane seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Adel Slimane the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Ellesmere Port City protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Adel Slimane had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The referee gave Shoeburyness a penalty, 88 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Tarek Ben Zid, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Ellesmere Port City's Hedi Limam. 3-0. 92 minutes into the match, Ellesmere Port City's goal looked a bit too open when Khaled Sguir came free, but Hedi Limam reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 96th minute, Said Nefzi ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Hedi Limam was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-0. For all the effort they put into the match, the Ellesmere Port City players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Shoeburyness.
