Hedi Chikhaoui tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hedi Chikhaoui showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ali Chaldun in the 7th minute of the match. Through an outstanding action, after 10 minutes, Hedi Chikhaoui successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Mohamed Clayton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Trimley FC's Karim Kaâbi got a free kick in the 22nd minute. If Ali Chaldun had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 25th match minute, Ellesmere Port City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ali Chaldun to maneuver through the defense. If Hassib Hammami had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 37 minutes into the match, Ali Chaldun dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Hedi Chikhaoui, 1-0. In the 42nd minute, Karim Kaâbi got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of Trimley FC booed when Ellesmere Port City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Majed Karray didn't get a good kick on the ball. 46 minutes had been played when some careless play by Ellesmere Port City's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Néji Melliti was slow to take the kick. During this time Trimley FC's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Néji Melliti almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Ellesmere Port City's Hedi Limam did a great save. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

After a defensive mix-up in Trimley FC's zone, Ali Chaldun stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hedi Chikhaoui came out of the goal and Ali Chaldun tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Hedi Limam made a fantastic save in the 61st minute, when Mohamed Clayton sent off a good shot on target. Mohamed Hammami kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ali Chaldun in the 68th minute of play forced Trimley FC's goalkeeper Hedi Chikhaoui to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hedi Limam showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mongi Karoui in the 74th minute of the match. Trimley FC's Hedi Chikhaoui played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hassib Hammami in the 76th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Hassib Hammami's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Hedi Chikhaoui was relentless in the 78th minute of the game. Ali Chaldun fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hedi Chikhaoui having to interfere. When Hassib Hammami came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the Ellesmere Port City fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hassib Hammami couldn't finish the play. Hassib Hammami fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hedi Chikhaoui having to interfere. Salah Belhaj Bourguiba hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Ellesmere Port City fully deserved thier win.
