Bury United's Mohamed Bachraoui played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Karim Boumnijel in the 17th minute of play. When Belgacem El Hadj Kacem fell near the penalty area in the 19th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Bury United's protests and gave Belgacem El Hadj Kacem a yellow card for diving instead. In the 19th minute, Belgacem El Hadj Kacem hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 20th minute Haykel Mechemeche shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mohamed Bachraoui saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Bury United getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Akram Ben Saada hit a great ball. In the 27th minute of the match, Riadh Ladgham got a very nice opportunity to score, but Hedi Ayari was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post.
