An unexpectedly hard shot by Tarak Boumnijel in the 15th minute of play forced Ashburton's goalkeeper Adel Mestiri to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Newcastle-under-Lyme City's Chaker Boukadida proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 17th minute of the match, managed to save Newcastle-under-Lyme City from getting a goal against them. Tarak Boumnijel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Fadhel Falhi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Adel Mestiri tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mehdi Jaballah couldn't finish the play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Walid Haithem made a kick off. When Walid Haithem came up free with the goalie in the 64th minute, the Ashburton fans jumped to their feet. In the 68th minute, Tarak Boumnijel got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Fadhel Falhi came up free with the goalie in the 80th minute, the Newcastle-under-Lyme City fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fadhel Falhi couldn't finish the play. Chaker Boukadida showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Walid Haithem, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Walid Haithem in the 90th minute of play forced Newcastle-under-Lyme City's goalkeeper Chaker Boukadida to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Walid Haithem had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
