In the 42ndth minute of the game Bechir Kalaï who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Clitheroe City's Majed Ben Gharbi was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Clitheroe City's Majed Ben Gharbi proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 52nd minute of the match, managed to save Clitheroe City from getting a goal against them. If Riadh Belgacem had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 58th minute Bechir Kalaï shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Majed Ben Gharbi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dali El Ouaer was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 94th minute, Walid Zaairi got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
