Sofiane Haithem took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hamed Ben Dhia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 14th match minute, Penistone was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Khaled Essediri to maneuver through the defense. Muhammad Mahouachi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 19th minute, Lassaad Chikhaoui hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 23rd minute Hamed Ben Dhia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sofiane Haithem saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Aziz Boumnijel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mohamed Ghannouchi in the 24th minute of play. If Muhammad Mahouachi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 27 minutes into the game, Khaled Essediri was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Penistone's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Banbury City the free kick. The supporters of Banbury City booed when Penistone was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Khaled Essediri didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, Banbury City's Sofiane Haithem got control of the ball when Driss Chipo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Chokri Kalaï hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Hamed Ben Dhia made a kick off. Sofiane Haithem made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hamed Ben Dhia in the 53rd minute of play. 56 minutes into the match, Penistone's Hamed Ben Dhia sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Sofiane Haithem narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 59th minute, Penistone's Ali Naouali seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Ali Naouali the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Penistone protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Ali Naouali had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 59th minute of the game. One of Penistone:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Banbury City:s goal. The long shot by Aymen Bourguiba in the 66th minute really tested Aziz Boumnijel's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. After a rather tough play, Banbury City's Lassaad Bachraoui got a free kick in the 69th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Driss Chipo in the 73rd minute of play forced Banbury City's goalkeeper Sofiane Haithem to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Aziz Boumnijel made an important save on a dangerous shot by Muhammad Mahouachi in the 75th minute. If Mohamed Ghannouchi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sofiane Haithem took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Driss Chipo , even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Driss Chipo 's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Sofiane Haithem read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 84th minute of play. After 95 minutes, Mohamed Achour mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Penistone and the Banbury City players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Banbury City booed when Penistone was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mohamed Achour didn't get a good kick on the ball. Muhammad Mahouachi received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Aziz Boumnijel came out and tried to block the shot, but Muhammad Mahouachi slotted it home off the left post making it 0-3 in the 97th minute. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Banbury City eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
