Seating: 1743, VIP seats: 0) Swadlincote's Mohamed Trabelsi started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 4th minute, Karim Negrouz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 8 minutes into the match, Swadlincote's goalkeeper Ahmed Younes had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Khaled Mosrati. When Shrewsbury City's Anis Laabidi in the 10th minute got a chance for a shot 10th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Swadlincote's goalie prevented a goal. Swadlincote's Ahmed Younes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 13th minute of the match, managed to save Swadlincote from getting a goal against them. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mohamed Trabelsi in the 18th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ben Saidi saved Shrewsbury City from getting behind. 20 minutes into the game, Swadlincote's Karim Negrouz nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ben Saidi made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. In the 24th minute of the game, Khaled Mosrati landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. 24 minutes into the game, Zine Boukorâa was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Swadlincote's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Shrewsbury City the free kick. After a rather tough play, Swadlincote's Zine Boukorâa got a free kick in the 25th minute. Anis Laabidi struck a weak shot in the 26th minute. Ahmed Younes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Shrewsbury City. Ben Saidi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Karim Negrouz in the 29th minute of the match. Shrewsbury City's Anis Laabidi got a good chance for a goal in the 31st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 33 minutes into the match, Anis Laabidi dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Ahmed Younes, 1-1. If Anis Laabidi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 45th minute of the match, Anis Laabidi tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Ahmed Younes saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Anis Laabidi to make the kick off. In the 51st match minute, Shrewsbury City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Slim Jemmali to maneuver through the defense. Anis Laabidi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 58 minutes, Mohamed Trabelsi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Swadlincote's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mohamed Trabelsi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Karim Negrouz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ben Saidi having to interfere. After having played for 65 minutes, Anis Laabidi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Shrewsbury City's supporters crossed their fingers, but Anis Laabidi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 66 minutes into the match, Shrewsbury City's Slim Jemmali sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ahmed Younes narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The supporters of Swadlincote booed when Shrewsbury City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Habib Mechemeche didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the match clock showed 75 minutes, the score became 2-1 when Anis Laabidi sped through Swadlincote's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Ahmed Younes. If Karim Negrouz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Shrewsbury City's Slim Jemmali got a free kick in the 81st minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mohamed Trabelsi in the 82nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ben Saidi saved Shrewsbury City from getting behind. In the 85th minute Anis Laabidi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ahmed Younes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Shrewsbury City's Habib Mechemeche got a free kick in the 87th minute. 94 minutes into the game, Ahmad Nefzi was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Shrewsbury City's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Swadlincote the free kick. Swadlincote's Zine Boukorâa was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Ben Saidi in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Shrewsbury City were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Swadlincote for a fine match.
