Spectators: 6743 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1743, VIP seats: 0) 5 minutes into the game, Newnham's Karim Yahia nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Fethi Limam made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Borhene Nafti hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. Karim Yahia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Ashwell's zone, Karim Yahia stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fethi Limam came out of the goal and Karim Yahia tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Haroune Namouchi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Haroune Namouchis short, quick shot in the 28thth minute got Hassan BenAmor to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 31st minute, Hassen Mustapha reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Hassan BenAmor. The goal made the score 1-1. Haroune Namouchi was extremely unlucky when he, in the 35th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. In a very dangerous position, a player in Ashwell fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 41st minute. Penalty! When Riadh Khalifa came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the Newnham fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Riadh Khalifa couldn't finish the play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Hassen Mustapha was the one to do the kick off. After 56 played minutes Newnham got a freekick which was hit by Haythem Achour. In the 58th minute Ashwell were awarded a corner. Yassine Khcharem went to the cornerflag to take it. After taking down the ball on Ashwell's corner Yassine Khcharem fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Hassan BenAmor quite easily take care of the ball. In the 61st minute, Newnham's Karim Yahia ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Fethi Limam. Fethi Limam yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-3. Fethi Ben Amor hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. After 68 played minutes, Newnham's Rashid M'hadhebi shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Fethi Limam came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Newnham reached it. Hassan BenAmor showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hassen Mustapha in the 69th minute of the match. Karim Yahia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fethi Limam having to interfere. 73 minutes into the game, Riadh Khalifa cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-4. Fethi Limam was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Riadh Khalifa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fethi Limam having to interfere. Majdi Achab kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. Riadh Khalifa could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 79th minute of the match, but Fethi Limam made a huge save. Riadh Khalifa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Fethi Limam tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Fethi Limam showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Karim Yahia, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. Fethi Limam made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Karim Yahia in the 89th minute of play. In the 92nd minute, Ashwell's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Riadh Khalifa fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. The Newnham supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Newnham would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
