A collision led to Etoile Du Sahel getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. Mehdi El Bez hit a great ball. The supporters of Halesowen FC booed when Etoile Du Sahel was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mehdi El Bez didn't get a good kick on the ball. Hamed Bachraoui made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alaeddine Belkhodja in the 8th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Alaeddine Belkhodja in the 12th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Hamed Bachraoui prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 19th minute Slim Bourguiba suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. When Lassaad Gharbi fell near the penalty area in the 19th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Etoile Du Sahel's protests and gave Lassaad Gharbi a yellow card for diving instead. If Mokhtar El Abidine Ben Ali had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Moncef Sallemi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 26 minutes into the game, Etoile Du Sahel's Caid Yahia nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Karim Chikhaoui made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. After having played for 31 minutes, Slim Ben Lamouchi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Etoile Du Sahel's supporters crossed their fingers, but Slim Ben Lamouchi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Hamed Bachraoui came out of the goal in the 33rd minute to try and stop a shot by Halesowen FC's Mokhtar El Abidine Ben Ali. But to his dismay, Mokhtar El Abidine Ben Ali quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. After having played for 44 minutes, Slim Ben Lamouchi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Etoile Du Sahel's supporters crossed their fingers, but Slim Ben Lamouchi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Karim Chikhaoui showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Slim Ben Lamouchi, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Caid Yahia stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 58 minutes into the match, Halesowen FC's goal looked a bit too open when Caid Yahia came free, but Karim Chikhaoui reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 61 minutes, Mokhtar El Abidine Ben Ali managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. When Caid Yahia came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the Etoile Du Sahel fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Caid Yahia couldn't finish the play. If Moncef Sallemi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Etoile Du Sahel supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Etoile Du Sahel would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
