Spectators: 6726 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1726, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Amine Kalaï started the match with the kick off. After a rather tough play, Watford's Youssef Ben Beya got a free kick in the 10th minute. Mongi Ayari, 11 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Khaled Dhaouadi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Thamesmead's supporters rose to their feet, but Khaled Dhaouadi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hadj Salem Bejaoui breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 24th minute of the match, Said Ben Chouchane tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Hadj Salem Bejaoui saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Said Ben Chouchane sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hadj Salem Bejaoui made a fantastic save in the 32nd minute, when Khaled Dhaouadi sent off a good shot on target. Hatem Jaziri blasted a shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Belgacem Dhahri having to make a save. After 38 played minutes Watford got a freekick which was hit by Hatem Jaziri. Belgacem Dhahri took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hatem Jaziri, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 45th minute, Amine Kalaï hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Hadj Salem Bejaoui made a fantastic save in the 47th minute, when Khaled Dhaouadi sent off a good shot on target. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Said Ben Chouchane to make the kick off. In the 54th minute Said Ben Chouchane shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hadj Salem Bejaoui saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 58 minutes into the game, Hassen Bnouni was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Thamesmead's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Watford the free kick. After 58 played minutes Thamesmead got a freekick which was hit by Hassen Bnouni. Hadj Salem Bejaoui showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Said Ben Chouchane, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. Hatem Jaziris short, quick shot in the 62ndth minute got Belgacem Dhahri to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. The audience thought a goal was coming when Hatem Jaziri got free with Belgacem Dhahri in the 64th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Hatem Jaziri received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Belgacem Dhahri tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Belgacem Dhahri was out of position in the 67 minute of play, and Amine Kalaï capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Amine Kalaï really showed his touch with that goal: 0-1. 71 minutes into the match, Thamesmead's goal looked a bit too open when Amine Kalaï came free, but Belgacem Dhahri reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Hatem Jaziri had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Thamesmead's zone, Hatem Jaziri stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Belgacem Dhahri came out of the goal and Hatem Jaziri tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Hadj Salem Bejaoui took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Said Ben Chouchane, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Watford booed when Thamesmead was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mongi Ayari didn't get a good kick on the ball. Amine Kalaï received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Belgacem Dhahri tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Khaled Dhaouadi blasted a shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Hadj Salem Bejaoui having to make a save. If Said Ben Chouchane had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 97 minutes into the match, Thamesmead's Khaled Dhaouadi sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Hadj Salem Bejaoui narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Watford's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
