The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Mourad Mechergui had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The attack was good, but when Mourad Mechergui in the 9th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Hamed Khaled kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. Mehdi Ben Bourguiba took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mourad Mechergui, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Poynton's Mourad Mechergui in the 22nd minute got a chance for a shot 22nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Halstead AFC's goalie prevented a goal. Hamed Khaled fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zine Karel having to interfere. Jean El Naili's late challenge caught a Halstead AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jean El Naili helped the player get up and apologised. Jean El Naili hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. Zine Karel made an important save on a dangerous shot by Hamed Khaled in the 36th minute. 38 minutes into the match, Mourad Mechergui notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Halstead AFC's Mehdi Ben Bourguiba. Mehdi Ben Bourguiba was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Mehdi Ben Bourguiba showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zoubeir Haggui in the 43rd minute of the match. Mehdi Ben Bourguiba showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zoubeir Haggui, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. Hamed Khaled received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Zine Karel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Zoubeir Haggui stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute Zoubeir Haggui shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mehdi Ben Bourguiba saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Hamed Khaled in the 55th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Zine Karel prevented the ball from getting in the gole. David Rostom fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zine Karel having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Poynton's Salah Belhaj Jegham got a free kick in the 59th minute. Zine Karel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mahmoud Salem, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 61 minutes into the match, David Rostom had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Zine Karel. Poynton's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that David Rostom was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Zoubeir Haggui received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Mehdi Ben Bourguiba came out and tried to block the shot, but Zoubeir Haggui slotted it home off the left post making it 1-2 in the 66th minute. Poynton's Zine Karel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Najeh Nefzi in the 69th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Fakhreddine Meriah during the 70th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 70th minute, Fakhreddine Meriah hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The attack was good, but when David Rostom in the 71st minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. A collision led to Poynton getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Jean El Naili hit a great ball. After recieving a nice pass, Halstead AFC's Mahmoud Salem tried to score from far away in the 76th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Zine Karel stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of David Rostom's shot from short distance in the 78th minute. In the 79th minute Hamed Khaled shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zine Karel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Halstead AFC's Mehdi Ben Bourguiba proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 84th minute of the match, managed to save Halstead AFC from getting a goal against them. Zoubeir Haggui fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mehdi Ben Bourguiba having to interfere. In the 87th minute Hamed Khaled shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zine Karel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Zine Karel didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Hamed Khaled went, in the 92nd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. The Poynton players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Halstead AFC from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
