With a left leg Anouar Ghannouchi saved Watford from getting behind. Anouar Ghannouchi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hamdi Kalaï in the 46th minute of play. Mohamed Salah Sassi kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Mohamed Chikhaoui was the one to do the kick off. Zine Habib Benfrej fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anouar Ghannouchi having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zine Habib Benfrej in the 52nd minute of play forced Watford's goalkeeper Anouar Ghannouchi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Albert Omrani fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anouar Ghannouchi having to interfere. The supporters of Newthorpe booed when Watford was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Khaled Belgacem didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 59th match minute, Newthorpe was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mehdi Ghigani to maneuver through the defense. If Mohamed Chikhaoui had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jemeleddine Baly fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anouar Ghannouchi having to interfere. Zine Bouzayène's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Habib Souayati read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 71st minute of play. When Mohamed Chikhaoui came up free with the goalie in the 73rd minute, the Watford fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mohamed Chikhaoui couldn't finish the play. Anouar Ghannouchi made an important save on a dangerous shot by Albert Omrani in the 83rd minute. When Jemeleddine Baly fell near the penalty area in the 87th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Newthorpe's protests and gave Jemeleddine Baly a yellow card for diving instead. In the 94th minute, Muhammad Hammemi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. For all the effort they put into the match, the Newthorpe players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Watford.
