The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Sadok Bourguiba lost his temper 3 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. After 3 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Springfield! In the 5th minute there was a penalty for Tottington City. Ahmed Jaziri stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Hedi Mestiri. 1-0. Springfield's Hedi Mestiri played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ahmed Sellimi in the 9th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Faouzi Gasmi in the 10th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Hedi Mestiri prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ahmed Sellimi received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Hedi Mestiri came out and tried to block the shot, but Ahmed Sellimi slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 12th minute. Hedi Mestiri showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ahmed Sellimi in the 16th minute of the match. A collision led to Springfield getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Kais Jaber hit a great ball. 25 minutes into the match, Springfield's Chaouki Ben Bachraoui sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Kaies Rzouga narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The crowd rose to their feet as Karim Mechergui kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Hedi Mestiri. That made the score 3-0 in the 29 minute of play. In the 32nd of the match, Ahmed Sellimi tried to place the ball in the upper right corner, but Hedi Mestiri got in the way and made a wonderful save. Chaouki Ben Bachraoui received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Kaies Rzouga tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 37 minutes, Kais Jaber managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Springfield's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kais Jaber was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 40th match minute, Tottington City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hassib Namouchi to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Chaouki Ben Bachraoui in the 41st minute of play forced Tottington City's goalkeeper Kaies Rzouga to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Kaies Rzouga made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Chaouki Ben Bachraoui in the 43rd minute of play. After having played for 45 minutes, Faouzi Gasmi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tottington City's supporters crossed their fingers, but Faouzi Gasmi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Karim Mechergui hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match.

Hamed Fitouri's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Kaies Rzouga read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 51st minute of play. Kais Jaber blasted a shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Kaies Rzouga having to make a save. After 58 played minutes Springfield got a freekick which was hit by Chaouki Ben Bachraoui. Faouzi Gasmi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Chaouki Ben Bachraoui came up free with the goalie in the 65th minute, the Springfield fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Chaouki Ben Bachraoui couldn't finish the play. Ahmed Sellimi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Hedi Mestiri tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 74 minutes into the match, Tottington City's Faouzi Gasmi sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Hedi Mestiri narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 75 minutes into the match, Ahmed Sellimi had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Hedi Mestiri. Springfield's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ahmed Sellimi was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. Hedi Mestiri showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Karim Mechergui in the 81st minute of the match. If Mongi Ladgham had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. For all the effort they put into the match, the Springfield players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Tottington City.
