Springfield's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Sofiene Clayton was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. In the 21st minute Sofiene Clayton shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hedi Mestiri saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 21 played minutes Springfield got a freekick which was hit by Hamed Fitouri. The crowd rose to their feet as Springfield's Youssef El Hadj Kacem slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Habib Zouiten. That made the score 1-1 after 24 minutes of play. In the 28th minute Sofiene Clayton shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hedi Mestiri saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Springfield's Hedi Mestiri played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sofiene Clayton in the 33rd minute of play. Sofiene Clayton might have been able to make a better finish in the 35th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Hedi Mestiri. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Sofiene Clayton ran back to his position shaking his head. Springfield's Hedi Mestiri played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sofiene Clayton in the 37th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Springfield's Kais Jaber got a free kick in the 38th minute. Mohamad Boumnijel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Hedi Mestiri tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Youssef El Hadj Kacem in the 49th minute of play forced Openshaw United's goalkeeper Habib Zouiten to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Sofiene Clayton was the one to do the kick off. A collision led to Openshaw United getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Mohamad Boumnijel hit a great ball. The audience was convinced that Chaouki Ben Bachraoui's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Habib Zouiten was relentless in the 66th minute of the game. In the 70th minute, Youssef El Hadj Kacem got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Youssef El Hadj Kacem had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mohamed Abdi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hedi Mestiri having to interfere. After having played for 80 minutes, Mohamed Abdi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Openshaw United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mohamed Abdi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Habib Zouiten took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Chaouki Ben Bachraoui, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Chaouki Ben Bachraoui had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Youssef El Hadj Kacem blasted a shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Habib Zouiten having to make a save. Habib Zouiten showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Chaouki Ben Bachraoui in the 96th minute of the match. When Springfield's Youssef El Hadj Kacem in the 97th minute got a chance for a shot 97th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Openshaw United's goalie prevented a goal.
