Muhammad Azzaro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Karim Bourguiba tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Muhammad Azzaro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Mokhtar Dhiab had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Issam Sayah sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Durham's Karim Bourguiba played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mokhtar Dhiab in the 18th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mohamed Kerrit got free with Lotfi Ghodhbane in the 19th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Férid Ben Mokadem took the ball and in the 21 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Lotfi Ghodhbane. Lotfi Ghodhbane dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. In the 32nd minute Férid Ben Mokadem shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lotfi Ghodhbane saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 38 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Hay Riadh United! The goalkeeper, Lotfi Ghodhbane, was totally fooled by Durham's Bahi Ladgham, who 41 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. After 45 played minutes Durham got a freekick which was hit by Mohamed Kerrit. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Férid Ben Mokadem stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Karim Bourguiba took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mokhtar Dhiab, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Férid Ben Mokadem in the 57th minute of play forced Hay Riadh United's goalkeeper Lotfi Ghodhbane to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lotfi Ghodhbane made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mohamed Kerrit in the 58th minute of play. Lotfi Ghodhbane showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Férid Ben Mokadem in the 59th minute of the match. 63 minutes into the match, Mohamed Kerrit had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Lotfi Ghodhbane. Hay Riadh United's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Mohamed Kerrit was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. 66 minutes into the match, Hay Riadh United's goal looked a bit too open when Férid Ben Mokadem came free, but Lotfi Ghodhbane reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hay Riadh United's Mokhtar Dhiab managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Fakhreddine Jaziri in the 79 minute of the game. Mokhtar Dhiab sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 82 minutes into the game, Durham's Férid Ben Mokadem nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Lotfi Ghodhbane made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-0. Karim Nafti scored 5-0 in the 88th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Lotfi Ghodhbane, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Karim Bourguiba showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Muhammad Azzaro in the 92nd minute of the match. Yassine Rokki 's late challenge caught a Hay Riadh United's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Yassine Rokki helped the player get up and apologised. In the 93rd minute, Yassine Rokki hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Hay Riadh United's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
