Tyler McHarold ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 20th minute, Alloway's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Sam McCodrum fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. After having played for 26 minutes, Sam McCodrum managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Paisley's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sam McCodrum was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Alloway's supporters crossed their fingers, but Phillip McAuslan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 43rd minute Tyler McHarold shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rod McDavid saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rod McDavid took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tyler McHarold, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Phillip McAuslan was the one to do the kick off. Rod McDavid made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tyler McHarold in the 51st minute. The supporters of Alloway booed when Paisley was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Matt McQuhirr didn't get a good kick on the ball. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Wayne Addison couldn't finish the play. Paisley's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
