The Peterculter fans' excitement grew in the 26th match minute when Peterculter's Lloyd Holden looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Shaun McKirdy's late challenge caught a Dunoon City's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Shaun McKirdy helped the player get up and apologised. Shaun McKirdy hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, Willie McKiggan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Dunoon City's supporters rose to their feet, but Willie McKiggan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gavin McDaniell breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 46 minutes into the match, Peterculter's goal looked a bit too open when Alexander Alexander came free, but Gavin McDaniell reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alexander Alexander's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gavin McDaniell read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 47th minute of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Willie McKiggan to strike the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Willie McKiggan in the 53rd minute of play forced Peterculter's goalkeeper Gavin McDaniell to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gavin McDaniell made a fantastic save in the 55th minute, when Alexander Alexander sent off a good shot on target. Alexander Alexander's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Gavin McDaniell firmly grabbed it by the left post. If Alexander Alexander had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alexander Alexander sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 76 minutes into the match, Peterculter's goal looked a bit too open when Willie McKiggan came free, but Gavin McDaniell reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gavin McDaniell made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Willie McKiggan in the 88th minute of play. When Peterculter's Lloyd Holden in the 90th minute got a chance for a shot 90th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Dunoon City's goalie prevented a goal. Willie McKiggan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ronald Purcell hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Peterculter were victorious despite being under pressure from Dunoon City for much of the match.
