If Hamish Hendry had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 57th minute, Tranent FC's Archie Ritchie seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Archie Ritchie the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Tranent FC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Archie Ritchie had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. Rick Dinwoodie blasted a shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Logan McQuire having to make a save. From close distance Robert McChruiter pressed in the 0-1 goal high up into nets stiches in the right cross 70 minutes into the game. In the 75th minute the ball was on its way in behind Tranent FC's goalkeeper Logan McQuire, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Hamish Hendry received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Logan McQuire tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Matthew McCasland's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Logan McQuire was relentless in the 84th minute of the game. Hamish Hendry might have been able to make a better finish in the 87th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Logan McQuire. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Hamish Hendry ran back to his position shaking his head. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Matthew McCasland in the 88th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Logan McQuire saved Tranent FC from getting behind. With a little luck, Dunbar United's Jordan Donillson got control of the ball when Robert McChruiter tried to sneak it across the goal line. Timothy Limond charged in rather forcefully in the 91st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Timothy Limond the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Tranent FC booed when Dunbar United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Timothy Limond didn't get a good kick on the ball. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Tranent FC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
