Harold Fraser showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nicholas Meine, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. Les McConnechy was a little too slow when Calum Suttie got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 30th minute. The score was now 1-0. Mark Masterson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 36 minutes into the match, Ballygrant City's goalkeeper Les McConnechy had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Calum Suttie. 39 minutes into the match, Celtic Rangers FC's goal looked a bit too open when Nicholas Meine came free, but Harold Fraser reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Calum Suttie received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Les McConnechy tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sid Douglas kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. With a little luck, Ballygrant City's Les McConnechy got control of the ball when Calum Suttie tried to sneak it across the goal line. Tyler McFergus recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Nicholas Meine to strike the kick off in the second half. Harold Fraser took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nicholas Meine, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Harold Fraser came out of the goal and Mark Masterson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 74 minutes, Nicholas Meine managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ballygrant City's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nicholas Meine was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 75 minutes, Brian Malcolmson mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Celtic Rangers FC and the Ballygrant City players grew even worse after the yellow card. When Mark Masterson came up free with the goalie in the 77th minute, the Ballygrant City fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mark Masterson couldn't finish the play. Nicholas Meine sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. For all the effort they put into the match, the Ballygrant City players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Celtic Rangers FC.
