In the 33rd minute Miles Abbotson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stuart McAllan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 35th minute the ball was on its way in behind Glasgow City's goalkeeper Stuart McAllan, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Peter McMurdoch had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ron McGilp got in the 47th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Guy Kilgour handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ron McGilp made a kick off. In the 52nd minute, Miles Abbotson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience was convinced that Peter McMurdoch's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Guy Kilgour was relentless in the 57th minute of the game. Chris Gillon charged in rather forcefully in the 59th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Chris Gillon the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Stuart McAllan was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a defensive mix-up in Larbert FC's zone, Ron McGilp stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Guy Kilgour came out of the goal and Ron McGilp tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 74 minutes, Peter McMurdoch managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Glasgow City's supporters crossed their fingers, but Peter McMurdoch was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Guy Kilgour showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ron McGilp in the 76th minute of the match. If Ron McGilp had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 78th minute, Joshua Murchie hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Glasgow City's Edward Armitage couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 79th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Larbert FC. After some fancy dribbling in the 82nd minute, Peter McMurdoch managed to get in a good position for a shot. Glasgow City's supporters rose to their feet, but Peter McMurdoch was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Peter McMurdoch in the 85th minute of play forced Larbert FC's goalkeeper Guy Kilgour to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 88th minute, Miles Abbotson made a precise shot to the right of Stuart McAllan. Glasgow City's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. After a defensive mix-up in Glasgow City's zone, Miles Abbotson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Stuart McAllan came out of the goal and Miles Abbotson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Larbert FC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
