The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Nicholas Meine had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nicholas Meine in the 13th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Matthew Alexander prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Nicholas Meine's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Matthew Alexander read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 16th minute of play. Euan Knox kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. In the 21st minute of the match Donald Wright shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Les McConnechy showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 23rd minute, Mark Masterson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ballygrant City's supporters rose to their feet, but Mark Masterson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Matthew Alexander breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Nicholas Meine had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. Les McConnechy took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Robert Scott, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Les McConnechy made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alistair McGrowther in the 40th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Robert Scott's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Les McConnechy was relentless in the 42nd minute of the game. Nicholas Meine sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Nicholas Meine had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Ballygrant City players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Bulgaria The Great F.C. were winning 0-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Robert Scott to strike the kick off in the second half. Phil Meikleham's late challenge caught a Bulgaria The Great F.C.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Phil Meikleham helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Ballygrant City getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Phil Meikleham hit a great ball. Alistair McGrowther sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Robert Scott recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 61 played minutes Ballygrant City got a freekick which was hit by Euan Knox. Alistair McGrowther recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 67th minute. When Eddie Drummond fell near the penalty area in the 72nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. In the 76thth minute of the game Nicholas Meine who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Bulgaria The Great F.C.'s Matthew Alexander was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Mark Masterson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 80 minutes into the match, Bulgaria The Great F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Nicholas Meine came free, but Matthew Alexander reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 83 minutes into the match, Nicholas Meine notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Bulgaria The Great F.C.'s Matthew Alexander. Matthew Alexander was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When Nicholas Meine came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the Ballygrant City fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nicholas Meine couldn't finish the play. Mark Masterson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Ballygrant City players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
