Spectators: 6795 (Terracing: 5000,
Seating: 1795, VIP seats: 0) Celtic Rangers FC's Shane Ellwood started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Harold Fraser showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tim McVurich, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. Harold Fraser stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Robbie Abbott's shot from short distance in the 5th minute. Tim McVurich recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 8th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Robbie Abbott struck a weak shot in the 13th minute. Harold Fraser didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Pitlochry. When Robbie Abbott came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the Pitlochry fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Robbie Abbott couldn't finish the play. Malcolm McElfrish received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Harold Fraser tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 21 minutes into the game, Robbie Abbott recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Harold Fraser. Robbie Abbott showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Harold Fraser made a fantastic save in the 30th minute, when Tim McVurich sent off a good shot on target. Harold Fraser took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Robbie Abbott, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 39th minute, Keith Lemond managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pitlochry's supporters rose to their feet, but Keith Lemond was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Harold Fraser breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Tim McVurich sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 43rd minute, Robbie Abbott got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Celtic Rangers FC's zone, Robbie Abbott stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Harold Fraser came out of the goal and Robbie Abbott tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Robbie Abbott made a kick off. Jake Robson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Shane Ellwood in the 53rd minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Pitlochry's Robbie Abbott got a free kick in the 55th minute. Robbie Abbott sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Freddie Pearson kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. Celtic Rangers FC's Harold Fraser played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tim McVurich in the 66th minute of play. Celtic Rangers FC's Shane Ellwood got a good chance for a goal in the 76th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Harold Fraser took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tim McVurich, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Calum Suttie fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jake Robson having to interfere. Tim McVurich sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 91st minute, one of Pitlochry:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Pitlochry. Reece McHutchen placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! Celtic Rangers FC's Harold Fraser played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tim McVurich in the 95th minute of play. Shane Ellwood was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 98th minute. Celtic Rangers FC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Pitlochry were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
