After some fancy dribbling in the 12th minute, George McQuaire managed to get in a good position for a shot. Stirling Football Club's supporters rose to their feet, but George McQuaire was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vincent Sorely breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Kilmacolm FC's zone, Connor McLeister stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vincent Sorely came out of the goal and Connor McLeister tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Stirling Football Club booed when Kilmacolm FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marcus McCuish didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jamie McCririe during the 21st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Ricky Yuill showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Samuel McHugh in the 43rd minute of the match. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Samuel McHugh to make the kick off.
