In the 14th minute George McQuaire shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gordon Reid saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 15 minutes into the match, Stirling Football Club's goal looked a bit too open when Craig Hay came free, but Ricky Yuill reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Craig Hay had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Raymond Fair in the 19th minute of play forced Stirling Football Club's goalkeeper Ricky Yuill to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Airdrie's Nick Wylie was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Ricky Yuill in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Craig Hay fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ricky Yuill having to interfere. After some careless play in the Stirling Football Club defense, Craig Hay kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ricky Yuill. The Stirling Football Club fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ricky Yuill should have stopped the shot. Craig Hay fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ricky Yuill having to interfere.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Raymond Fair stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Connor McLeister sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. James Cunningham charged in rather forcefully in the 61st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed James Cunningham the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. James Cunningham kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. Stirling Football Club's Ricky Yuill played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Raymond Fair in the 65th minute of play. In the 71st minute, Connor McLeister got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Matthew Ewing was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 77 minutes into the match. Raymond Fair was extremely unlucky when he, in the 87th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Ricky Yuill stood somewhat misplaced when Raymond Fair came free in front of goal and shot 0-3 to the left of him in the 90 minute. In the 94th minute, Raymond Fair fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Airdrie had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
