Spectators: 6810 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1810, VIP seats: 0) Grangemouth's David McQuarrie started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 11th minute David McQuarrie shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Robin Alderson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 13th minute, Grant Cowan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Grant Cowan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. David McQuarrie received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Robin Alderson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 25 minutes into the game, Oliver Lachie was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Grangemouth's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Garve AFC the free kick. Darius Spence sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 28 minutes, Grant Cowan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Grangemouth's supporters crossed their fingers, but Grant Cowan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Robin Alderson stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of David McQuarrie's shot from short distance in the 29th minute. Jay McQuire blasted a shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Tommy Kinnell having to make a save. After some careless play in the Grangemouth defense, Jay McQuire kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tommy Kinnell. The Grangemouth fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tommy Kinnell should have stopped the shot. In the 43rd minute, Grant Cowan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Tommy Kinnell made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Darius Spence in the 46th minute of play. Grangemouth's Tommy Kinnell proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 47th minute of the match, managed to save Grangemouth from getting a goal against them. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Darius Spence stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Grangemouth booed when Garve AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. David McInnes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Darius Spence kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. After 65 minutes, Nigel Drysdale mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Garve AFC and the Grangemouth players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 65 played minutes Garve AFC got a freekick which was hit by Nigel Drysdale. Nigel Drysdale hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. After having played for 73 minutes, Grant Cowan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Grangemouth's supporters crossed their fingers, but Grant Cowan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Grant Cowan in the 85thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Robin Alderson, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Tommy Kinnell showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jay McQuire, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. 91 minutes into the match, Grangemouth's goal looked a bit too open when Darius Spence came free, but Tommy Kinnell reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Grangemouth's Tommy Kinnell played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jay McQuire in the 95th minute of play. Garve AFC's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
